Charleston politicians want to spend $600 million dollars of our tax dollars so we can spend hundreds of hours stuck in traffic on I-26.

Please call or email our elected officials to let them know you do not want to pay a toll to go slower. Too much pork from Columbia will clog I-26 our only artery.in and out of Charleston.

These elected officials pictured below support building the most expensive public port terminal in the U.S. - The terminal will cost $600 million dollars and the road infrastructure will cost another $600 million dollars. It will not have direct rail access like our major East Coast competitors in Norfolk and Savannah. Without rail shipments, this terminal will be responsible for one additional truck every five seconds on our already congested highways.

The new port is projected to generate 10,800 vehicle trips per day of which 70% will be diesel trucks. Traffic experts have said that I-26 would realize failing levels of service due to the increased port traffic, resulting in catastrophic congestion beginning in 2012.
